What is Positive Behaviour Support?
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person-centred approach that focuses on understanding and addressing the reasons behind behaviours. It aims to improve quality of life through practical strategies and ongoing support.
Who can access Steppr’s services?
Our services are available to NDIS participants across Perth metro and regional Western Australia who require behaviour support tailored to their individual needs.
How do I make a referral?
Referrals can be made through our online form or by contacting our team directly. We guide you through each step to ensure a smooth process.
What happens after a referral is made?
Once we receive your referral, we match you with a qualified practitioner who will conduct an assessment and develop a tailored support plan.
Does the participant get a say?
Yes. We work with the participant as much as possible, and our reports are done with you, in person.
What is an assessment?
A functional behaviour assessment uses observations, interviews and data to understand why a behaviour is happening. You can read more on our functional behaviour assessment page.
What is a behaviour support plan?
A behaviour support plan provides strategies to address behaviours while respecting the person's dignity and improving their quality of life. We offer interim and comprehensive plans. A behaviour support plan does not itself authorise restrictive practices.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. Telehealth is available for regional WA, including Bunbury and the South West, Mandurah and Peel, and areas between Perth metro and the South West.
How do I get started?

Can families and support coordinators be involved?
Yes, we encourage collaboration with families and support coordinators to ensure consistent and effective support for the participant.
